March 10, 2019Pet Owners, Please be Respectful
May 30, 2020Thanks to the never ending efforts of Friends of Lake Arrowhead Mountain Communities (https://www.flamc.org/), our state Senators, and ALA members at large writing in – the FAA has confirmed they will restore flight paths back to the original Heaps Peak pattern away from the lake!
This takes effect December 5, 2019.
Important to our mountain community is legislation submitted by Senator Elizabeth Warren which lays the groundwork for community rights when it comes to noise & ground pollution related to flight paths – specifically the measure is:
H.R. 976 — originally generated in the House Quiet Skies Caucus by Senator Lynch and co-sponsored by Mr. Krishnamoorthi, Mr. Ted Lieu of California, Ms. Eshoo, Mr. Raskin, Mr. Smith of Washington, Mr. Quigley, Mr. Sherman, Ms. Brownley of California, Mr. Lipinski, Mr. Lowenthal, Ms. Speier, Ms. Judy Chu of California, Mrs. Napolitano, Ms. Schakowsky, Ms. Bass, Ms. Norton, Mr. Suozzi, and Miss Rice of New York.
The bill directs the Administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration to enter into appropriate arrangements with the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine to provide for a report on the health impacts of air traffic noise and pollution, and for other purposes.
