LATEST: Burning at 39,026 acres and 42% contained so far. The flames, Cal Fire said on Friday, Sept. 13, have been reduced to smoldering and creeping. Fire has grown mostly in the direction of southwest Big Bear.

Currently evacuation warnings for Lake Arrowhead and the entire mountain community are in place, to prepare residents in the advent that status changes to a requirement.

California Governor Newsom declared it an emergency sending resources which was part of the overnight progress.

The Line Fire started at the base of the mountain in a residential area referred to as Highland roughly in the middle between Lake Arrowhead & Big Bear in San Bernardino. Specifically, at Base Line Road and Aplin Street, Highland.
